It is such an experience to watch people being free to experience the kasi life. We forget to share how we are morally connected by the Ubuntu spirit and how is has shaped us to be better people.

The definition of Ubuntu lives in the kasi street. Being born into this lifestyle, one grows up with the old African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child". This is where the Ubuntu spirit connects people from one community to unit emotionally as to them, raising and being mothers or fathers to children that they never gave birth to. 

This life is a culture that is diverse enough to accommodate anyone who is young or old - to be connected through braai's, soccer and the language that gets us going "tsotsi taal". (kasi slang)

Well, it all originates from the 19th century as its popularity comes from the apartheid era as to black people living undeveloped places.

Living in places that lacked their needs as to running water, electricity and proper houses to grow their families but instead, they lived in shacks and they eventually learnt to man up to the situation faced and make a living to provide better lives for the siblings or children. By the struggles and the hurt parents went through, they eventually where able to raise legends to rule the world and have better lives for themselves.

Social media has had both negative and positive aspects on the kasi life. It has given it an experience that people all over the world want to see and experience. The advantages that social media has impacted on the kasi life is that, people know get to read about blogs that are based on the kasi life, gave writers a platform to give knowledge about the kasi life and give a certain type of experience when reading about and seeing its pictures. It has put the kasi life in the map for everyone, all around the world to see, experience and have a FOMO moment. With the improved technology, people are able to witness how people live in the townships with just a click of a button. (the love for art and music combined together)

The negative impacts that social media might have on the is that, not everyone shares the same experiences about the kasi life or takes acknowledge of it. People will always share their different opinions and give out how they have experiences the "kasi life" - and as much as we try to improve the kasi life and sharing experiences on the social media platform, people will always have the stories stuck in their minds on how dangerous it can be and still go through blogs about the struggles in the kasi life. 

I can practically recommend that campaigns about the kasi life need to brainstorm different ideas, as to how to give hopes to the kasi kids and improve their lives - How the kasi people can take more acknowledgement in practicing the use of social media to showcase lifestyles and how people survive day in and out.  The impacts of hashtags will generate more viewers and follower to have more interest on the kasi life.
